    • Bi- Annual Coastal Clean-up

      Coastal Clean-ups are regularly being held by communities participated by children, fisher folks, women, schools, etc. A “Save our Seas Advocate” ensures that there will be no trash/garbage left in shorelines of Island Village of Municipality of Cuyo, Agutaya and Magsaysay, Palawan.

    • Mangrove Planting

      Mangrove Planting Activities are usually being participated by everyone in the communities in North Eastern Palawan.

      Role: Conservation Volunteer

      • Cambian, Agutaya
      • Municipality of Magsaysay

  • APRIL & OCTOBER

    • Reef Check Monitoring & Fish Visual Census

      Marine Protected Areas are being maintained and monitored by community organizations themselves to make sure that the natural resources are being protected and conserved. A MPA Advocate will take part during Reef Check Surveys and Fish Count Monitoring of members of Bantay Dagat (Ocean Watch) in various assisted Barangay with MPAs.

    • Marine Environment Assessment

      An Environmental Researcher aims to help the communities to find solutions to some of today’s pressing challenges in Marine Environment.

      Role: Environmental Researcher

      Qualifications: Has background on Marine Biodiversity, and other fields related to Marine Protection and Conservation

      No. of volunteers: 1 pax

    • Summer Remedial Classes

      This 2017, ASF will start its remedial classes for incoming Senior High School students in Manamoc National High School depending on the field/subject they are in need of assistance.

      Role: Teacher

      Location: Brgy. Manamoc, Cuyo, Palawan

      Qualification: Teacher/ Retired teacher, College undergraduate

    • Enterprise development & Management

      ASF’s Livelihood & Enterprise Development Program aims to provide assistance to those who operate small businesses through technical trainings.

      Role: Trainer/ Speaker

      Qualifications: Knowledgeable in:

      • Business Management
      • Accounting & Entrepreneurial skills

      He/she will provide technical assistance on the Business Operation and management including tutorial on financial report preparation and auditing and others.

    • Disaster Response

      Role: DRR Practitioner

      Train BLGU /key leaders on disaster risk reduction and management.

      Qualifications:

      Knowledgeable in DRR approach/ methodology for small islands/coastal communities.

    • Annual Health Caravan

      Annual Health Caravan is being held in different island-barangays in Quiniluban Group of Islands in North Eastern Palawan. A Medical Recording Officer will take charge in encoding medical records of patients.

      Role: Medical Recording Officer

      Locations:

      • Brgy. Manamoc, Cuyo,
      • Brgy. Algeciras, Agutaya
      • Brgy. Concepcion, Agutaya

      No. of volunteers: Maximum of 5 pax

      Qualifications:

      • Each will need to bring their own laptop with Microsoft Excel Software for encoding of Health Data of Patients
      • Preferably a Nurse
  • AUGUST - FEBRUARY

    • Storytelling for Day Care Students

      Every child has the right to enjoy good books. A Storytelling session promotes reading to students which will be included in classes for Day Care students.

      Role: Storyteller

      Location: Brgy. Manamoc, Cuyo

      Qualifications:

      • Read story books to day care students for a week
      • Bring story books
    • Afterschool Learning

      Help students from low-income communities in Northern Palawan succeed in school by tutorial lessons after class. An afterschool tutor will teach a child/children 1-2 hours after school hours on basic subjects such as Math, Science and English.

      Role: Afterschool Tutor

      Locations: Schools in Manamoc, Concepcion and Algeciras

      No. of volunteers: Minimum of 3 pax

      Qualifications: Aspiring or retired Teachers, college undergraduates/ graduates

  • WHOLE YEAR ROUND

    • Doctors for Small Islands Project

      Isolated communities experience barriers to healthcare that limit their ability to get the care they need. In order for  residents to have sufficient healthcare access they would need to travel for hours through boat as there are no doctors assigned in their barangays.

      Role: Doctors

      Locations:

      • Brgy. Manamoc, Cuyo,
      • Brgy. Algeciras, Agutaya
      • Brgy. Concepcion, Agutaya

       

      No. of volunteer: 1 pax per barangay

      Qualifications:

      Practicing doctors preferably Family Medicine or General Practitioner AND Internist, he/she will provide medical consultations and other medical services for coastal communities for 1 week per month

       

    • Art Activities for Cancer Patients

      An Arts Workshop will be held for cancer patients in Pedia Ward in Cancer Institute- PGH to give encouragement and entertainment to kids while enhancing their creativity and skills. An Art Facilitator will provide materials and hold an art session for kids with Cancer depending on their availability.

      Role: Art Facilitator

      Location: Pedia Ward- Cancer Institute-PGH

      No. of volunteers: Minimum of 3 pax

      Qualifications:

      • Knows how to facilitate art session for kids
      • Has passion for children with Cancer
      • Willing to bring art materials for the children
