Eleven (11) senior high school graduates from the municipalities of Agutaya and Cuyo were awarded financial assistance by the Jollibee Group Foundation to pursue a technical-vocational course in Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Operations at the Anihan Technical School in Calamba City. This six-month course consists of units in bread and pastry production, cookery, and food and beverage services as well as administrative units essential in the QSR industry such as point-of-sales system and stock inventories. After which, students will undergo a six-month on-the-job-training at a reputable food service industry partner.
The Andres Soriano Foundation facilitated the recruitment and screening process of scholarship applicants in its beneficiary communities in Northeastern Palawan and provided financial counterpart in support of program implementation.
The 11 scholars started their classes on June 13th, along with 60 other students from all over the Philippines.
On June 14th, 10 technical-vocational scholars from the Quiniluban Group of Islands started their six-month in-school training on Electromechanics Technology at the Dualtech Training Center in Calamba City. The course covers theoretical and practical foundations in electrical, electronics, and mechanical trades; and will be followed by 18 months of in-plant training for skills application in basic machine operations, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
This scholarship program is funded and implemented by Dualtech Training Center and The Andres Soriano Foundation.
