CommUNITY for Quality Education in Small Islands
With the combined donations from the community and partners of Manamoc National High School (MNHS) in Barangay Manamoc, Cuyo, Palawan, 31 Senior High School students are now honing their skills in their newly constructed Home Economics Building.
Their school was one of the ten (10) schools who were selected for the Early Implementation Program of the Senior High School in the Province of Palawan. It was a huge challenge for the school to raise funds to construct a Home Economics Building that will be used solely by the Senior High School students. “I just keep in mind that if we succeed in the Early Implementation, we’ll have the chance to fully implement Senior High School Program in 2016.”, says Mr. Raymond Viguella, Senior High School Coordinator in MNHS. They tapped organizations and individuals who shares the aspirations of providing better education to the next generation. With the support of Parent Teachers Association, Barangay Council, MNHS Alumni Association, Supreme Student Government, PE Family, Amanpulo Resort, ASF and its partners, the construction of the Home Economics Building was finally completed. “We are united in our plans and even employ the Bayanihan system to make the dreams of Manamoc people come true.”, Viguella intimated. The building was officially turned-over to Manamoc National High School last June 1, 2015 in the presence of DepEd Assistant Schools Division Supt. Roseline P. Vicente.
