product development workshop in Barangay Rizal and Barangay San Carlos in the Municipality of Magsaysay, Palawan

Back

The Andres Soriano Foundation conducted a product development workshop in Barangay Rizal and Barangay San Carlos in the Municipality of Magsaysay, Palawan to train participants on how to make chopsticks from bamboo. Bamboo is a fast growing grass found abundantly in this area, and regenerates naturally from its own roots.

This workshop is part of the Foundation’s ongoing livelihood program which aims to build the capacity of individuals and groups to access alternative livelihood and explore eco-friendly sources of income. Aside from conducting workshops, the Foundation also links producers to resorts and local stores for marketing and distribution of their products.
