When Typhoons Tino and Uwan tore through small island communities of Brgys. Algeciras & Concepcion, Agutaya, and Brgy. Manamoc, Cuyo, Palawan, which left hundreds of families exposed, roofs gone, homes damaged, and daily life upended, the Andres Soriano Foundation (ASF) mobilized quickly, guided by a simple goal: help families rebuild a sense of safety and normalcy.
Through ASF’s relief mission, 1,566 roofing sheets were initially distributed to 723 affected families, providing more than just materials for repair. For many, the new roofs meant protection from the elements, a secure place to rest, and renewed confidence to start again.
Implemented in close coordination with the Local Barangay Unit, Manamoc Multi-purpose Cooperative, and community members, the response ensured that assistance reached those most in need. As families fastened each sheet into place, the sound of rebuilding echoed a shared resilience; proof that recovery is possible when communities and partners come together.
In times of crisis, shelter is more than a structure. It is dignity, safety, and hope. Values ASF continues to uphold in every relief effort.
