Tech-Voc Scholars at Anihan’s Cookery Lab

Back

Two months into their technical vocational course, our scholars are progressing well in terms of skills development, confidence-building, and values formation, as observed by their teachers and mentors at Anihan Technical School. The photos show six of the scholars in their cookery laboratory; the others were attending a lecture class in food and beverage services during the monitoring visit last August 14th.

Eleven (11) students from the municipalities of Agutaya and Cuyo were awarded financial assistance by the Jollibee Group Foundation to pursue a technical-vocational course in QSR operations at the Anihan Technical School in Calamba City. This six-month course consists of units in bread and pastry production, cookery, and food and beverage services as well as administrative units essential in the QSR industry such as point-of-sales system and stock inventories. After which, scholars will undergo a six-month on-the-job training at a reputable food service industry partner. The Andres Soriano Foundation facilitated the recruitment and screening process of scholarship applicants in its beneficiary communities in Northeastern Palawan and provided financial counterpart in support of program implementation. The scholars started their classes last June 13th, along with 60 other students from all over the Philippines.

Facilitating access to scholarship opportunities is part of the Foundation’s ongoing education program which supports quality and inclusive education to help young people realize their full potential and become productive and responsible members of society.
